Hey there,
I'm just getting started in this hobby and I'm aspiring to build the PT73, I just bought from the associated website here. I'm going to get it printed and when I'm ready, build it.
I'm 58 and an self employed commercial refrigeration and hvac service guy.
This hobby looks like it would be a good way to develop my patience and meticulousness.
Thanks!

Burning Beard

Its pretty good for fine motor skills also ;)

Welcome, have fun,

Mike

cool...I haven't seen the factory Elco Boat completed yet, so that will be nice.
I built the green and dazzle versions myself.

There is a build thread here that might help you a bit: http://papermodelforum.com/index.php?topic=7.msg8#msg8

And I have many photos from the prototype design and build, so if you get hung up anywhere, just ask...
and I'll post whatever help I can.

Welcome.  How 'just getting started' are you?  Have you done models with other materials recently?

Dave's Koolwheelz are great starters to build your skills before tackling the PT boat.

I am anxious to see this one, too

LOL good question...I didn't think to ask if you had any experience.

While the PT Boat model does not require any advanced experience (in my opinion)
like all models it requires patience and a basic understanding of how to handle papers, cardstocks and the related tools.
And there are a few very small assemblies required for some of the Deck features.

but thats what the forum is for....
pay close attention to the supplied Assembly Instructions
and don't guess...ask here if you have any hesitation.
